I'll start.

Grabs the reader's attention. Has sweet graphic. Typography is tighter than a... well, it's tight. Very nice discount offer if you come in looking awesome. Hell, you only have to have a photo that shows that you were at one time awesome. How generous is that?

I'd be all over this place like Kickaha's spoog on Mr. Wizard's tombstone if it was in my neighborhood.

"vinyl, vinyl, vinyl. We rule."

PS - very clever to add "back injury" beneath the tagline. Wow. Tricky. DJ Massive is too smart for me and any enterprising lawyers out there!

I didn't even notice the "back injury" until I reread the ad again. Very subtle, but very funny.

PS: Nice signature Moogs.

Nice one. I didn't get the "twelve year old...back injury" until I read it through a few times.

Here's something I found on a Creation-Evolution blog a few days ago (The Panda's Thumb)...

Haven't got a pic, but have a link.

What a local Radio show splattered onto a billboard here.

Heh. Irn Bru FTW! Their TV commercials are equally obscure.

From an Iowa abstinence campaign (don't know if it qualifies as "awesome"... but at least they're trying).

I either hate or love that Greenpeace ad. I can't quite decide. Either way, it's pretty powerful.

(The reason I might not be so keen on it is that by showing a white child in such conditions it seems to be suggesting 'Look, it could happen to us too!', but that it's okay for Africans. I don't know if that's what it's meant to convey, but that's how I see it anyway.)

I agree with your misgivings. I'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt--the probably do care about the problem of draught / environmental degradation in Africa, and are using this as a "WAKE UP" to people who won't blink on a problem unless it will affect them directly. But still... I would feel more comfortable with a bunch of different looking babies (and, in my case, would be more sympathetic). Wouldn't that get the point across even better?

Eh... I'll take it though... at least they're trying.

I always liked this ad for lubricant.

The first time I saw it, it took me a mo to "get" it.

Yeah, it's circled around the Internets since the dawn of time, but it's the ultimate in advertising awesomeness. Just try to top that. Durex's ad is a pale imitation.

I think this is one hell of a whiskey ad campaign.

Canadian Club(R) Whisky Tells Consumers "Damn Right Your Dad Drank It"(TM)

Just because of this, I'm going to buy a bottle of this stuff tonight instead of Crown Royal. Right on.

Heh... that is pretty slick. I like that ad. Mostly because of that chic in the polka dots, but also the attitude is right. All I have to say to her is this.
