I've been using both my iMac and my MacBook in dual-display modes for a while, and it's struck me that it would be pretty cool if one monitor could display iTunes Coverflow (in full screen mode) while the other monitor displays the desktop and whatever other App is running. Wouldn't that be nice? Is it really so difficult?

Anyone found a hack? Is this something others would find useful? How likely is it to get fixed?

Forgive me - it's late and I'm just thinking, you know?

Couldn't you just move iTunes to the other monitor and set it in full screen mode on the other monitor?

Yes, except that when switching to fullscreen mode it blacks out the other display at the same time.

I'm after the "full screen" effect without the sidebar, window or track listing, if that makes sense?

How bout trying this tip from TUAW?

I've never used a dual monitor setup so I don't know if this will work or not, but it sounds like what you're looking for I think.

Tried the link above and it's great for the Quicktime player - but doesn't solve the Coverflow thing in iTunes...

Anyone got any other ideas? It really would be fantastic if I could do all my work on the external monitor while driving the Macbook LCD with iTunes with full-screen Coverflow!
