I am on a Windows XP machine with both IE and Firefox. Very often when reading these forums with Firefox, there are posts that I simply can't see - maybe just the top line or two, sometimes just enough to see that there was a post there, and nothing more. There is no scroll bar for these posts, and I can't stretch them vertically to see them either.

If I come back to the same page with IE, I can see them just fine.

Any ideas why?

Nevermind, I guess. Even though these posts don't work even if I exit, and get back into a thread, they do seem to show themselves if I reload the page.

Not sure why, but as long as I can "fix" it I guess I'm OK.

If you're using Firefox, note that you need to be using version 1.5 or higher. Older versions have a problem with the CSS overflow tag that may unintentionally crop/truncate some posts. As you noticed, reloading the page will usually temporarily relieve the problem.

The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. The only way to guarantee thoughtful, informative discussion is to write thoughtful, informative posts. AppleNova is not a real-time chat forum. You have time to compose messages and edit them before and after posting.

I have this problem in FF1.5, also - my 'fix' is to just grab the bottom corner and drag it a couple of pixels to adjust the window size. When it resizes, it reformats all of the posts and everything looks fine.

(I know that this kind of awkward workaround is discouraged in these forums, but he's talking about windows, can we let it slide?)

This trips me up. Did you meant to say "note that...", because not having to use version 1.5 makes no sense?

Yeah, should be note. Fixed.
