Really hard-nosed game. The first period was awesome with all that hitting. Hopefully Fedotenko is not going to miss any games from that tussle with the dasher. Brutal.

And of course, Clement, Clement Mouth of Cement says in the same breath that "it reminds him of what Claude Lemieux did to Draper" and then "but obviously Rehger didn't mean to hurt Fedotenko." Yah, then in that case they MUST be similar situations, since what Lemieux did was intentional and disgusting.

Awesome game. Perfect game for the Flames to play.

BTW, if you want to see how we celebrate victories up here, go to www.flamesgirls.com.

LOL. Greatest fan site... EVER!

Some of those chics are on the skany side but definitely a few nice ones. Lucky bastard... so is there like one Flames girl for every guy walking around in downtown Calgary after a big W?

Yeah, there's a big pile of girls waiting at the exits, and you pair up as you're leaving. Guaranteed one hummer. It's pretty cool.

Evidently not. Either way the men of Calgary must be one happy, smiling lot this afternoon, if they all got hummers after the game.

Looks like Fedotenko is probable for tonight's game. Glad to see he didn't end up with a fractured cheek bone or anything like that. I'm sure he'll be black and blue though... he already had a pretty good bruise / swelling going right when he got up, so we'll see.

1-0... FUBAR. Flames had lots of good scoring chances though. Khabibulin just stoned them, pretty much. The rest of the Bolts didn't play particularly well IMO, even the D made a lot of stupid mistakes. The goalie bailed them out though so what can you say.

Did you guys notice if Fedotenko was playing? I don't recall seeing him all night, even though I'm sure he would've been easy to recognize.

FUCK!

The Flames better stay out of the friggin box the rest of the game or they're in trouble. Fekking Brad Richards... the rat bastard.

What a game! Flames look great, if they can keep that energy up, I think they'll take it.

BTW, I'm cruising around during the intermission, and go to check out the Mini Coopers.

Tell me that Flames Mini isn't the coolest goddamned car in the world. I WANT ONE.

Damnit.

I guess it was inevitable that this series was going to go 7. Tampa always seems to win after a tough loss and Calgary never quite seems able to put teams away at home....

Let's hope that Calgary can find a way to make all those Tampa fans watch the opposing team skate Lord Stanley in their building... after a Gelinas GWG. Would be only too fitting.

This is one of the most poorly officiated games I've seen all playoff long.

TB gets powerplays every dive they take, and Calgary doesn't get shit called when TB drags Iginla to the ice by his arm or trips him. Fucking refs litening to the league again before the game. Just call it tight both ways or let them play!

God I hate it when refs meddle with big games.

Agreed - this game is just... fricked. I am surprised at how clean it's been kept overall though.

I was so sure they could pull it off. 1 goal away from being the first team in Stanley Cup history to defeat four division winners for the big prize. I can't help but wonder if that took a bit out of them but they were hungry right till the very last second... literally. I'm just glad it didn't end up being the officiating that decided it. Calgary had some serious pressure on them the last 8 or 9 minutes. Khabibulin made two saves that had no business hitting anything but twine... just awesome saves. Kipper had one too against Vinny (little poetic justice I guess).

In the end though I was glad to see Andreychuk skate Lord Stanley. Happy for Khabibulin and St. Louis also. Ference's hit wasn't really a penalty but more of a freak stick to the head. He was facing the opposite side of the ice so there's no way it was boarding, and he was practically on his butt when Ferrence leaned into him so it wasn't high sticking either. I guess they had to call it but it didn't matter in the end. TB played the better game.

The Cup won't make it to Calgary I don't think but at least it will spend a couple days in PEI.

Fuck man, that was brutal. That penalty on Ferrence was fucking bullshit. St. Louis is squatting like he's trying to either take a shit or sit on a goatse buttplug, of course he's going to get his fucking bell rung.

Tough loss. I'm actually surprised my house escaped unscathed. Well, I did pound a beer can into my new filing cabinet and dented the top in... but the beer came off the wall surprisingly easy.

Is this where I'm supposed to say There's Always Next Year?

Maybe in a case or two...

*sigh*

Amen, brother... I just want there to BE a next season. The World Cup won't be enough, even though it should be fun to watch. Next time, set up a video camera so we can see you smash beer cans into filing cabinets and spray brew everywhere. I could use a good laugh right about now... or a good lay. Anything to stop reminding me a team from fekking Florida just won the Cup.

Still, at least it wasn't the Crapitals. Then the earth would truly spin off its axis and we'd all die. Leonsis must never touch the Cup... never I say!!

Not that I'm not pissed over the Flames loss, it was good to see Anreychuck(sp?) raise the Cup. He deserved it.

So we get the Worlds then no more Hockey for a while. Drat. What the hell am I going to do on Saturday nights next winter??? It's going to be a long, cold winter in the Great White North.

In an attempt to cheer myself up after the flames loss, and to make up for the fact that I'd finally found a pub of hot flamesgirls in red bras and tube tops awaiting celebration, only to find the score going the wrong way,
thought I'd check http://lightninggirls.com to see if www.flamesgirls.com trumps it
(since the pregame shots clearly showed Tampa fans less, uh, bouncy, than Calgary)

seems senor myden managed to scoop both domains...

Canucks next year (fingers crossed).

and I bet I can guess murbot's diary entry tonight.

Go Canucks, baby! If Bert hadn't made his mess, they might've gone considerably further than they did. I think they could've beaten Detroit at least....
