I was suprised that while almost every single apple rumor forum went down during the 12pm EST announcments this forum was just as speedy and reliable as ever.

Is that how applenova usually is?

Well, our server load is often considerably less than many other forums. If you'll look at the main forums page, you'll see that the most users ever online was 797 back in Jan (MWSF, I believe). That's good, but not much in the grand scheme of things...

Glad you think so.

We (the staff) have worked through the past two events, tweaking settings here and there, to be sure that the server stays up. I didn't see the peak today, but last week we were running about 400 users.

Yeah, Brad is working actively in the background during most of these keynotes tweaking things so that the server load never gets too high.

That and Darwin hooked us up with extra memory in the server. So send the boy some money for his replacement computer.

What kind of memory does that server take?

Is that a euphemism for a BOFH-style "clickety-click"?
