I'm the kind of luddite that still enjoys reading Mac magazines.

I usually pick up MacLife when I see it on the shelves. I saw the recent issue with the MacBook Pro on the front cover and thought "I'll pick it up in a couple of days when I'm back in the store." There was a tag on the front cover about a review of family tree software that peaked my interest.

Fast forward to this weekend, where that issue was supplanted by a new edition. The previous issue couldn't have been on the shelves for more than a week. Maybe some kind of supply-chain snafu meant the older issue had a short shelf life.

So I go to MacLife.com, to find that their website is down.

Any news on why their web presence has been disappeared from the internets?

On a related note, since our shop is called MacLife, we owned the www.maclife.com domain name for many years. One day we got a phone call from the former MacAddict Magazine who wanted to purchase our domain name as they were rebranding to "MacLife Magazine". We did a quick domain search and discovered that www.maclifeboise.com was available, so we quickly registered it and then called MacAddict back and asked them what their offer was. They offered the shop $20,000 for our domain, so we sold it to them.

Easy money!
