i am glad i am getting a macbook pro soon because this evening my dog ran across my power cable and knock my laptop and a bottle to the floor and the bottle fell on the screen and completely cracked it.....

besides the screen the 12" powerbook is working just fine... i took out my 80GB drive and installed the original 40 GB drive back on it....

i completely reset up the computer... reinstalled the OS and now have it set to output to DVI... the powerbook is now a desktop....

what i want to do is to completely disable the screen entirely...... i want to make it so only the DVI is used...... i don't want to do screen mirroring since that limits the resolution of the 21 inch CRT i have attached..... right now i have it set to screen spanning with the 21inch CRT set as the primary display..... this works great... now i just want to turn off the other desktop on the laptop screen entirely

how do i do this?

Close the lid and attach an external keyboard and mouse.

When you press a key, it'll spring to life using only the external display.
