Ohmigosh, that's a riot. I know I shouldn't laugh at any of those, but I am. Sue me.
The "dynamite in the car" one was amusing too. Idiots. But yeah, the "buried under 200 pounds of elephant poo" is just tough to even think about without going into a full body shiver... |

Okay, I just posted this elsewhere, but it deserves it's place here, too. Lions riding horses:
Why? Because this is the scariest damn thing I've ever seen on the tubes. Imagine if horses and lions declare war on us. We'll have no chance, no chance at all. "How could you falter / when you're the Rock of Gibralter? / I had to get off the boat so I could walk on water. / This ain't no tall order. / This is nothing to me. / Difficult takes a day. / Impossible takes a week." |

No kidding. And if they bring monkeys into the mix (foot soldiers and spies), it's really our asses.
Lions riding on horses, commanding legions of armed, not-afraid-to-die monkeys. I won't sleep tonight. |

At least give credit where credit is due.
Gruber posted that on Daring Fireball today. |

Just because John Gruber also posted it doesn't mean John Gruber was the first and only person to find it and that anyone else who posts it unceremoniously copied it from him.
Besides, Gruber's linked pic is not the same as 709's. The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. The only way to guarantee thoughtful, informative discussion is to write thoughtful, informative posts. AppleNova is not a real-time chat forum. You have time to compose messages and edit them before and after posting. |

Lindsay Lohan's "tribute" to Marilyn Monroe, recreating her (Marilyn's) final photo shoot (with the original photographer).
NSFW (unless you work at Swank or Hustler), due to rampant tittification and such. Anyone think it's weird that Lohan does this, being that Monroe was a sexpot celeb who died early (jury's still out on Lohan on this front)? It smacks of "look at me!" desperation, IMO. Something just seems "ugh" and tacky about it all. In any case, for all those people who've spent years wanting to see Lohan in her birthday suit, enjoy! Although I think she looks like a crossdresser/drag queen, frankly... |

I almost want to say that had to be intentional (or at least a Freudian slip), but then again, I also think it's possible that someone was so pure of mind that the fact that Jesus did actually have tubeage down there never crossed the designer's mind.
As the proud owner of a Jesus nightlight, Myrrh air-freshner bearing a picture of Christ on the cross, a "Jesus" keychain, and a series of those coffee-mugs-with-your-name-on-them souvenirs bearing "Jesus" in the standard black lettering (from the Alamo, Grand Canyon, and Pikes Peak, among other awesome places), I find that plenty awesome and ever-so-disturbing. I would also note that none of my stuff is that Urban Outfitters garbage--I only collect it if it is produced and sold without irony. There's a great Greek Orthodox shop in Chi-town, for example, just full of this stuff, and I think it is fabulous. I want one of these next: Little to close there, Christ. I also want to note that I intend no disrespect to anyone's belief by owning/loving this stuff--or to the thought, historical figure, or actual person of Christ. It's the humans that make and market these things, and it is their conduct (and its juxtaposition with the things we know about "Jesus") that I find unintentionally hilarious--not their beliefs. My mom and dad, both fundamentalists in the truest sense (but not necessarily evangelicals), find this stuff as hilarious as I do. Quote:

I'm thinking of making some kind of a Kickaha/Tigerwoods99 reunion joke, but will probably just end up vomiting and turning off the computer.

Loved the slag on SNL last night by Tina Fey. She referenced this photo shoot and said she was amazed at how Lindsay Lohan continues look so old (or something like that)

That is AWESOME!!! I despise "Garfield" (and have for years and years). I can't believe it's still around. It's the "Full House", "Family Matters" and "Facts of Life" - all rolled into one - of comic strips. It's not funny. It's never been funny. It never will be funny. And, frankly, it borders on the frighteningly idiotic. No, it doesn't "border" on it. It's there already. That site is right, because now those strips are instantly funny and "WTF?!?" First "Garfield" strip I've ever laughed at, truth be told. |
