Laser Printers Need Dedicated Circuits??

Finally looked up why the lights flicker when the laser printer fires up. I mean, I knew the essential reason, I just wanted confirmation. Turns out that laser printers draw a LOT of power, so much so that experts recommend that they be installed on their own dedicated 20 amp circuits (!!!), as they induce a brownout condition for other devices on the same circuit.

This means that you could be causing damage to your television or computer if you don't have them connected to a universal power supply. It's not currently convenient for me to string a dedicated electric line for the laser printer, so I'm considering other solutions.
