Well, "Silk Touch" appears to be the rarest enchantment of all, so if T mashed and mashed until he got that one just to test my grass question, then I am very grateful. : )

So it goes.

Yeah, I did as Brad said. I upped my XP and gave myself a stack of 15 diamond pickaxes. Only one was Silk Touch.

Edit: Those Pickaxes are now in the exchange. I couldn't see making them go to waste. All are level 40+ enchanted. I still have the Silk Touch one.

Shortly after the bugless launch of v1? Seems like we should wait until then unless we know that the current maps etc are going to move fine. If everything is going to generate the same then no time like the present!

However it also has to do with Brad's availability.

Theres one in there with silk touch and efficiency which is just a great combination. It even harvests glass without breaking it. I've put it and the other one i used back into the chest.

Oh, I guess I got two with Silk Touch then. 2 for 15 isn't bad. Fair game to anyone who wants to use it then.

Sho nuf!

Once I give the GM 1.0 SMP version a test spin locally tomorrow evening, I'll fire off a backup of the current Loch Green world, upgrade the server, and start with a fresh new world.

I'll probably be at work until ~7 PM EST. So, we probably won't make the official switch until late night. In the mean time, if you guys like, we can hand out lightning wands and set players to creative mode (fly you fools!) so you can go nuts again. Anyone who missed out on the previous weekend's mayhem can join in.

It'll probably be several days before we see an updated version of Bukkit surface. Dinnerbone (the bukkit lead and chief committer) is going to be at Minecon this weekend, and that probably precludes a working release very soon. Once I take that for a spin and give it my seal of approval, I'll load up the old worlds in parallel and start taking building transfer requests.

Awesome. I'm likely to do a reinstall of Mac OS X (64 bit) on the new SSD in the Hackintosh on Saturday. What a nice trial run it will be.

Should we have a new thread for the SSD donations?

How far are we on the way to the SSD, out of curiosity? I'd imagine we have to be almost there!

My donation: she is made.

I'd best receive $600 worth of Minecraft goodies from this donatio--- wait. Okay, it's significantly less than that. Okay.

Chickens only cost a dollar? Why am I paying $7 for a bag of chicken breasts?

Because you should always pay a premium for breasts. You might not get this.

Even though Minecraft 1.0 is essentially no different than RC2 (which in itself wasn't THAT much different than the 1.9 Prereleases), the fact that Minecraft has hit the 1.0 milestone makes me so incredibly happy and proud of Notch and his team.

(Shameless plug: I made a short little tribute to the Beta -> 1.0 transition, if you guys want to check it out (there are explosions! Lots of them!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZ1Fa...ure=youtu.be&a)

Is there still the possibility of a cross-portal between worlds? Even for a very short time?

My own server is running 1.9pre4. We are really attached to our world... does anyone know if the terrain generator for 1.0 is different enough to merit a new world?

Edit: for those who don't know, we are in the new v1. Let your updates run.

[edit]: In now, but logging into the server seems hit or miss. We're probably not alone. :/
