Hi all,

I haven't purchase .Mac yet. But before I purchase it I have a question regardings iWeb & Backup 3.

1. Can I use Backup 3 Software to backup my iWeb Project sites?
2. If yes. Is it as simple as backing up the other iLife apps?
3. If not. How can I backup my iWeb Project sites? I dont think that I can open my "published folder" from iWeb . I also can not find iWeb "library" folder, like the one for iPhoto.

Please advice.

Thank you.

If you've published your site, you don't have anything to worry about (the .mac backup will be as reliable as a published site). I haven't tried backing up an iWeb project with backup 3. I'll give it a go and let you know.

It looks like you need to backup a file called "Domain.sites" in your ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb" folder to get your sites. Add that one manually because it's not included in an ordinary iLife backup (yet - I'd wager that this will change soon). When you create a new custom plan, you can spotlight for Domain.sites and pick it that way.

understood...thank you...

so I have to manually backup that Domain.sites file. Why on earth don't they have this functionality build in...?

Well I'm also sure that this will change soon...Because one of its features is: "Backup your iLife files with a single-click" and I assume iWeb fall into this category

It's not really a problem to add a file manually for backup though...

It's probably because iWeb was released after the last update to Backup 3. Apple doesn't like to tip their hand and one of us geeks surely would have poked around in the Backup program and found a reference to iWeb. I bet it's added with the next update.
