Man there's a lot of GMU fans in here (or just people rooting for the Cinderella).
I don't care. Go Gators!! |

Nah, I was just the a** who'd root for anybody to take UConn out.
But I've come back to reality, and am firmly behind Florida (aka the team that I picked from the beginning to win it all). MCQ, does it bother you (at all) that all of the "experts" have jumped from the UConn ship and are now on the Florida bandwagon? UF didn't play many tough teams during the regular season - one or two teams in non conference play, and a bunch of average teams in the SEC this year. So the tough losses in the SEC perhaps gave them the experience in how to grind out games, which they've certainly done well in the SEC and NCAA tournament. What's impressed me with this year's team is how different players have stepped up in different games, and you never really know who's going to do it. It could be anyone on the starting lineup, or a combination of players - but each has done so several times this season. Even Humphrey can do it, if a team ignores him like GMU has done tonight. I couldn't say that last couple years. It was always Lee/Roberson/Walsh, and none of them could step up and get the job done. |

Well spoken.
I was one of those people that was burned a couple of years by those NCAA performances. The SEC was down this year, so I can see how they dropped off the radar. I think my view of them was well solidified when they inexplicably came into the season unranked and put on a strong showing in the the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic (especially against my guys, Syracuse). Florida just shot too many 3s, and made about half of them. Field goals were even, but FL made 12 3s and GM only 2.
That, and they killed on the boards. Next game, I'm cheering for LSU. Much as I'd hate seeing an all-SEC final, I simply can't cheer against anyone from Louisiana right now. I'll look at it as an all-Hurricane-victim final instead. Just ventured out for some food, and the moon tonight is a perfectly horizontal "New Orleans Crescent" - I'll take it as a good omen. |

Wow. I never would have predicted UF winning it all. Aren't they a football school???? Oh, yeah, that's right. Not any more. Congrats MCQ even though you didn't stand behind your team.
