Caught this from macminute

I'm wondering, has any popular musician done this before? I don't mean specifically releasing the track in GarageBand format, just any format at all. Definitely would be cool if it caught on with others.

I heard something about Bowie releasing material for fans mess around with it before… can't recall if 'layers' of the songs were released though.

Oh, that's a thing of beauty. I simply must send a note of my appreciation.

Yea, it is pretty rad, now we get to hear hundreds of crappy remixes!

I'm currently working on a gay trance remix myself. heh.

I just messed around with this - F-ing amazing!
I sense a trend.

This is great:

Drag the file over to your hard disk and double click it. Hit the space bar. Listen.
Change the tempo. Add new loops. Chop up the vocals. Turn me into a woman. Replay the guitar. Anything you'd like.
I gave this to my crew and band to test out and all work effectively stopped for a while - it's fun to mess around with. I've now heard a country version of the track as well as an abstract Latin interpretation (thanks, Leo).
There are some copyright issues involved, so read the notice that pops up. Giving this away is an experiment. I'm interested to see what comes of it, what issues are raised and what the results are.
Have fun-

I love this man. This will be the incentive I need to start really learning garage band. Hell yeah.

Oh, and I must say it's is nice to have the occasional Mac exclusive.
