I want to make backups of some of the DVD movies I have. Know of any free software that will allow me to do this?

there might be free software to do it, but the best software isn't. Look for DVD Backup, and DVD2oneX. those two are all you need to make legal backup copies of DVD's you already own.

Yeah I figured the commercial software would be the best but I was wondering if anyone knew of any sourceforge projects that were halfway decent.

DVD2One is unbeatable. As for DVDBackUp...I think it is starting to show it's age in that there are some DVD's it doesn't work with. For a slightly slower (I think?) but for sure backup, free MacTheRipper (grab from macupdate.com) is the second best. I use it most of the time, DVDBackup just doesn't do it for me anymore. Just keep it legal |
