OMG there is giant text in the search box too.
Everything else looks the same, so it doesn't appear to be a browser related issue. Edit: It looks normal in firefox but weird in safari. What? Here's a screenshot: http://www.flickr.com/photos/42238180@N04/3905953246/ ...and calling/e-mailing/texting ex-girlfriends on the off-chance they'll invite you over for some "old time's sake" no-strings couch gymnastics... |

Yeah, I noticed that earlier today on Gmail. They're no longer using the default buttons, including the main search front page.

Google does do A/B testing. Maybe you guys are in the test pool? |

Yeah, that almost certainly them doing some A/B testing. I got surprised with a different search results layout a couple weeks ago and my coworker at the next desk got a whole new Google News UI a couple months ago. I suspect these trials are not at all uncommon, but they just usually aren't quite so obvious.

Dropbox is my favorite tool. Man, I didn't even know about the public folder in dropbox. I usually just use it for transporting files/music to and from work.

I'm liking it. If you were also a certain age and had read as much fine print as I have you'd be liking it too.

I noticed it yesterday too. I was on my MediaCenter (Chrome) so I just thought that I was still "zoomed". That would have explain the big text/button. It's great as regular text on a 32"720p TV is a little bit small.
But this on my MBP... no way !!! Dave Mustaine :"God created whammy bars for people who don't know how to solo." |

My Hackintosh and my MB are getting big buttons too.
I am always logged in with a Google account. Maybe that's what's different? All my machines are running 10.6 too. I seem to have some giant buttons on Googles search page. Actually i prefer it. As it fills out the screen a bit more, rather than the rather empty search page.

I don't know how I hadn't seen it until this thread, since it's my homepage (mustn't have opened any new tabs today), but...

Seems okay I guess. I always use the google search in my browser so I didn't even notice it.

I got the giant buttons yesterday both in Chrome on my PC at work and Safari on my Mac.

Does anybody here really go to Google's homepage often enough to care? Surely we all use the Safari search bar.

That's pretty much what I thought when I saw this thread, too. I never use the Google home page at all any more. There's no reason, when the search bar is just a Cmd-Opt-F away.

I never use the Google.com page either, but the buttons on my search results page seem to be bigger as well. That's what I was referring to.
Anyone else have the same thought? Maybe I'm just thinking they're larger. No more Twitter. It's Mastodon now. |

Yeah, I've finally gotten the humongo field/button on all my computers on both the Google home page and search results pages.

My Father types google into the search bar in Safari. Increasingly I believe that computers are not for everyone.
