I need help. On my wife's Titanium, running 10.3.8, the internet only works via Airport. But regularly, for a reason unknown to me, something causes it to switch back to Built-In Ethernet. I only discover this when she realizes she's not getting e-mail, or can't connect to the internet. Then I check the Internet Connect icon in the menu bar, and it'll say I'm connected via Built-In Ethernet. I uncheck it to disconnect it... but an hour later, it's back in charge!
How can I de-install Built-In Ethernet, or somehow totally disable it, once and for all? Thanks for any help, Malcolm |

System prefs --> Network pane.
Pull down the "Show" menu to "Network Port Configurations" Check or uncheck here to enable or disable ports more permanently. Drag the order of network configurations to prioritize detection order. Hope this helps. |
