Does anyone know if the current "Apple Dock connector to USB cable" for sale from Apple is compatible with the new iPhone 3G? While it may seem obvious that is IS, it doesn't show "iPhone 3G" as one of the products it's compatible with.
I want to buy a second one so I can travel with one and leave one at home, plugged into the dock (which I bought two days after getting my iPhone 3G). Thanks. |

I've been using an old and a new dock connector cable with my 3G iPhone with no issues. I think the only issue was with using the old Firewire cable to charge.

I still have the old FireWire cable from my iPod Mini plugged in at my parents house for charging.
Makes me sad to think of all the great things we used to get with buying an iPod. Now it's just the cable, iPod, and headphones. No more Twitter. It's Mastodon now. |

Yeah. I definitely miss the Firewire port. I understand that most PCs don't have them but putting stuff on my 3G iPod is way faster than on my 60Gb iPod video.

Thank you, admactanium. Even though it's "only" $20.00, I'd have hated to have bought one of the available dock connector cables and find that it didn't fit or work with the iPhone 3G.
