Happy new year everyone.
I spilt coffee all over the cable that came with my iPhone and am loath to plug it back in - in case it upsets the iPhone. Is it OK to use the cable and USB adapter that came with my 5th Generation iPod (late 2006)? The exact model is listed below. I really need to be sure this is going to be OK before I plug it in. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1353#ipodfifth2 I just need to be able to charge it until I can get to the store. |

It will charge just fine with a USB cable. Yiu don't have to buy a neew cable just for the iphone.
The iPhone 3g just won't charge over FireWire. Apple removed that ability with the 3G. No more Twitter. It's Mastodon now. |

My wife's iPhone (1st Gen) is almost always connected using an iPod cable that came from on of our iPods that's two generations old now. There shouldn't be any issues using the old cable at all.
