I don't have an HDTV but I do have a 5.1 surround system and Comcast digital cable, so I often watch shows on the HD channels so that they are in widescreen and full 5.1 surround. On the CBS HD channel (channel 233 here in Lancaster, PA), however, I only ever get 2 channel sound, despite shows like CSI announcing right at the beginning "Available in HD and Dolby Digital 5.1 surround." I just wondered if anyone else had noticed the same situation with CBS, or, if not, why this might be unique to me (I suppose it could just be a local thing).

DD5.1 is common on all networks. What you're experiencing is that your local affiliate isn't passing that signal on to you. Either they don't have the equipment or their equipment is improperly configured.

Check out the AVS Forums for the best source of info on this.
