Are there any good external firewire hard drive cases that come with no drive? How about firewire 800?

Thanks

I got this for $80 something and love it. Of course the HD doesn't come with it. But it comes with USB 2 cable, FW 800 cable, and a FW800 -> FW400 cable.

I've got a couple of those as well. They come with a nice variety of cables and are a snap to install a drive into. The only small gripe I have is that they've no power button, but other than that I've been very pleased.

So it goes.

Yeah, a button would be nicer then the switch they have. But a button could be in danger of being accidently pushed.

Yours has a switch? Mine don't. I have to pull the power cord when I'm swapping drives. Freaks me out a tiny bit.

Either way your cutting power. Yeah mine has a switch, although it's odd because on their picture, I don't see that...well pictured.

This looks like a decent FireWire case for cheap.

Comes with a 6' FW cable. No FW800, though. $34.99

Fans? Are they even needed?

What about this?

I wasn't sure if external cases needed a fan. Doesn't seem like they should to me, but I've been wrong about these things in the past.

Might find this thread helpful.

Until I decided (and I don't know why I felt the need for FW800) that I wanted FW800, I was looking at the case Brad had pointed out. Of course I was going to get it from here because I wanted it in black ...color matters to me.
