With the iPad, Apple not only had to re-look ways to navigate, but also improve the user experience.

During the Pages demo, Schiller introduced Page Navigator feature allowing you to quickly touch and go to a page via the scroll bar. It's here at around the 9:40 mark.

I hope this feature comes to both the iPhone as well as Mac OS X. Scrolling and flicking to the bottom of long articles have always been a bit time consuming. Not really an issue on a Mac, but perhaps they could implement a system wide feature in Safari that allows you to tap to top of AND bottom of the page.

I agree, an end function needs to be added somehow. It isn't commonly an issue but when it crops up it's a huge PITA
