In a quasi-official response to Microsoft's web site listing feature recommendations for MP3 players, which emphasized the need to see what's playing as much as hear it, Apple computer is set to announce a new portable MP3 device on Friday, April 1st.



The iMime will act out the song titles of any Marcel Marceau albums in your MP3 collection.
No headphones, but you will always know what box set your player is trapped in (usually a glass one).

"Leveraging the trademark white music player into a whiteface display system seemed like the logical response to Redmond", according to Dvorak and numerous other clueless market analysts.

"People will feel a universal connection with this new player, which will also act out WMA format song titles", leading to a much larger market share of pity and derision, said various lackeys.

Rumours of a clown-faced version were discussed in certain carny circles, but company officials were concerned people would try and cram dozens into tiny cars.

At the time of this press release, no information was available on laser engraving on the backside of the new players or matching iMime socks, but it is expected that the current system for personalizing product will continue.

I think Apple should come out with an iCharade. Your iPod charades the song's title and you can't hear the song until you guess the name.
