One of the blogs points to a new OS, iPadOS. Interestingly enough, my Mojave doesn't try to autocorrect it either.

Having more freedom with Watch is pretty awesome. Of course, you really have to have a cellular Watch to get most of the features or just keep your phone on you.

Oh that's interesting... half the time autocorrect is so aggressive that it tries to convert "were" to "we're".

I like the idea of the hearing protection thing... As the sound guy, I have questions about the implementation. What weighting does it use? What exposure time is it assuming? You can be exposed to not-quite-painfully loud sounds without long-term damage as long as it's only instantaneous and you spend the rest of the day in pretty quiet environments. OTOH, road noise (especially in older cars) can easily cross the threshold for hearing damage if you spend many hours per day on the highway.

When I was a kid, people who did wrong were punished, restricted, and forbidden. Now, when someone does wrong, all of the rest of us are punished, restricted, and forbidden... and the one who did the wrong is counselled and "understood" and fed ice cream.

Sign in with Apple seems great if it is actually private.

This is a pretty big deal. Not on a technical level, but because it gives more privacy to the masses (who wouldn't realistically have created those accounts).

I wonder what the difference between iOS and iPadOS will be from the developer's PoV?

I suppose they might tell us in a bit, or in a dedicated session.

Interesting that the company who brought us the mouse in the first place seems to have designed what amounts to a new "laptop" OS which doesn't need a mouse at all... maybe they were getting nostalgic for the 80s?

If Xcode for iPadOS gets announced I might get an iPad Pro.

Beats the crap out of getting a MBP that costs 3x as much and spends most of its time barely not overheating.

A lot of new gestures and moves that don't seem very intuitive... gonna need a training video.

Not sure there will be one (if anything, Marzipan means development is converging). It's more of an end-user difference.

Something that stood out to me in the opening video was all the MBPs I noticed were older models that had illuminated Apple logos.

Me too! Ugly as all get out, but in a really cool way (IMHO, anyway). I love it, and want two (not that I'll be able to afford one, but it gives me confidence in the platform again).
