I am trying to use the chat feature on a forum I use and it doesn't work for me in any browser I try. Is Java chat not available on a Mac? I am running OSX 10.6.6 and Safari 5.0.3
The chat interface loads and says "connecting..." but never connects. Here is the site http://www.gmtruckhq.com Edit: I talked to the site owner and I need mIRC and I guess Mac doesn't support that, I was told to download snak from someone else??? Is this the only option? |

You need a server and a channel (room). The site owner will know those.

Well I had a weird thing happen, on my Macbook at home I was able to login and use the chat directly from the website on Safari. So this morning at work I tried and get the same error I was getting yesterday on my iMac. Is it possible that something with the wireless at work is blocking the java applet?
At first I thought it was working at home because the Macbook is a new iCore and the iMac is a core2duo but I guess thats not the issue. |
