Hi I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have just recently purchaced;
Machine Model: PowerBook G4 15" CPU Type: PowerPC G4 (1.1) CPU Speed: 1.5 GHz L2 Cache (per CPU): 512 KB Memory: 512 MB Bus Speed: 167 MHz Boot ROM Version: 4.8.6f0 For the first few weeks I was using a 1GB USB 2.0 flash drive made by Integral, this was working fine but gradually it started to not recognise the flash drive until now it dosen't at all. I also own a USB 2.0 60GB IODisk external hard drive made by Amacom, this has never worked with my Powerbook. Last week I purchaced another 1GB USB 2.0 flash drive made by Integral (the model is Courier) and this was not recognised either. As all three of these external drives say that they are plug and play with OS X and that no drivers are required it has left me somewhat baffled. I have verified disk permissions and this does not solve the problem. There is no information that I can find on the internet from people with the same problem and also no drivers. If anyone has any ideas as to what could be the problem I would be very grateful to hear them. Thank You. Alex. |

Do the USB ports work? have you tried to get anything else to work on them?
Try a run of the hardware test that came with your powerbook to see if it is a hardware problem. 1215/234215 (top .51875%) People really have got to stop thinking there is only one operating system, one economic system, one religion, and one business model. -EvilTwinSkippy (/.) |
