Is this thread dead for a reason?

A combination of BowTie and GeekTool plus an explosion of color.

The weather and the background for my "Sidebar" are GeekTool. (The Weather script can be found in many places on the internet. Just use Google for GeekTool Weather.)

The rest, time, date, calendar, photo of Zooey Deschanel and song playing are a custom Bowtie Bowlet I made myself. It's proprietary. I built it myself custom.

The photo changes every 30 seconds between an assortment of specially picked photos.

The font used is from www.dafont.com and is called "EraserDust" and "Eraser" (One is all caps and hasslightly different numbers but doesn't have the Degrees symbol or some other special entities.)

The desktop picture is from InterfaceLift:
http://interfacelift.com/wallpaper_b...f_holland.html
It is one of a hundred or so photos taken from IL. Alas, not all of them are as colorful as this one.

The video is "Weird Al" Yankovic's latest "Craigslist". It's a style parody of The Doors.
See it here.

The music video for the song playing in iTunes can be seen here.

Broken image, popantique. Looks like it needs an Amazon authentication or something.

edit: That's better… in a way.

meh. I stole it from my twitter, and angered the gods of microblogging. Fixed, albeit oversize now. (there is no winning, and I'm supposed to be studying for midterms anyway.)

Who likes subtle grids!

It's nice to put them in a folder and have them randomly change every 30 minutes.

I'll put up the originals upon request.

So I was looking for a new desktop for my Mac Mini and I found this one and it's replaced the last one on my MB.

Click to download from blog source.

I can't see a fucking thing.

Ya know, as big of a Mozilla cheerleader as I've been (ALL HAIL CAMINO!!!), Safari 4 is, um, actually, not bad. Not bad at all in fact.

I don't know.

I kinda hate myself for thinking this way, but, Safari 4 is something I might actually use. And I might like it.

Forgive me, great DinosaurStar in the sky, I am weak.

(Posted from Camino Version 1.6.8) ...

So it goes.

Wait, what? You call yourself a Camino fanboi and you're not using the 2.0 betas? They bring much needed tab-dragging and updates to Gecko, at the very least.

Danke! I prefer subtle, low-contrast desktop pics, which tend to be harder to come by these days.

Here's my current main machine desktop, Duke Ellington Boulevard, looking towards Central Park West (NYC). That building dates back to 1884, it was a cancer hospital—the genesis of Sloane-Kettering. I live around the corner.

Let's go with something a little different, shall we?

I came up with this after a little messing around in Lightroom with a shot of the harbor right outside my office a few days ago. It is by no means perfect, but I thought it came out a lot better than it had any right to given how little work went into it.

The image itself (as shown) can be downloaded here. (edit: bonus desktop with same theme here.)

Here's my latest desktop, on my MacBook Pro. The picture is a promo shot of Mia Wasikowska as Alice from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland. And yes, that's actually what my desktop looks like. I've done a bit of UI tweaking and use Quicksilver for most tasks.

Slight variation on last months. Different font in side area. Slightly different Dock. And about 3 Snow Leopard updates later.
