Hi..
Wondering if anyone knows if Apples Backup can be used to back up multiple user accounts in the same back up action. Trying to do this off the cuff doesn't work since I don't have the permissions to do this (so in the backup utility it shows the dir's but you can't for obvious reason .. see the files). Anyone know an easy way of doing this.. ? (I was thinking of using Groups but I don't know if that will make Backup able to see the files.. I am guessing it should but looking for advice before I start messing with permissions) (My other half doesn't trust herself to run a back up you see.. and as we use a Powerbook the external drive isn't plugged in all the time so I can't set up a schedule.) |

When I back up my home folder (I dont use Apple Backup), I logout and login as the root account. Then literally zip up my home folder and burn it to DVD.
I keep all my music, video and large image files in a folder on the root of my HD so that my home folder is small. OK, I have given up keeping this sig up to date. Lets just say I'm the guy that installs every latest version as soon as its available! |
