Okay this has bugged me since day one. Why the heck first of all did my G5 come with an AirPort anttenna, when my computer doesnt even have it. I thought I did for so long. NEVER needed it until now. but come on???

Another thing, and why is the antenna so flemsy. I mean, when you are back there trying to track down one of the 2000 wires that I have running behind mu setup, It falls right out... To me it would have been better thinking on apples part to do some sort of BNC connection locking type of thing for it.. What do ya'll think?

It's built in to increase standardisation in assembly. The required inventory levels are lower since Apple doesn't have to stock cases with and without the antenna, which, as a result lowers cost. It also makes it considerably easier to add AirPort since the antenna is already fitted.
