Had to get another cell phone since Cingular doesn't support my old AT&T phone. Got the Motorola razr phone but it doesn't get along with my PowerBook. Any idea where I can get the correct modem script? Cingular "doesn't support mac at this time." I've exhausted all my other avenues. AppleNova, I know you can help!

go here:

http://www.taniwha.org.uk/ for modem scripts.

Also, there is a lot of detailed info on how to set it up completely on the discussion board at apple.com. Just go to bluetooth/other devices and look for people trying to set up phones as modems. It was a pain in the ass the first time I was trying to do it. Also, you have to have html wap setting in the phone for it to work, you cannot use the basic wap settings.

Thanks. Taniwha is exactly where I ended up finding a barely acceptable modem script. I mean, it gets the job done, but not in the way the phone is capable of. I'm really irritated that Cingular and Motorola don't support macs any better than they do, which is half-assed, btw.

Instructions for cingular. The modem scripts are from the same place. I don't have any problems with it.

It's not EDGE speed, but it seems faster than the old 56K modem.
