I am trying to log in remotely to another computer
using a secure telnet. I think this is ssh, but am not sure. My login name on the remote computer is different than the name on my iBook, running tiger. I type: ssh <remote compute address> It promptly returns with my iBook account name and a request for the password. When i type in the remote computer password the connection is closed, which of course is appropriate since I have not given my login name to the remote computer. I did not understand the man pages for ssh. Is there anything I can do on my end or should I ask someone at the remote end? |

Try ssh username@computer
If it's the first time you've connected to that machine, it will ask you if you want to save the encryption key. Just answer yes. Last edited by staph : 2005-09-09 at 07:10. |
