THREAD FOR WHAT?
I don't get it? How dare Apple continue updating its operating system while Microsoft continues to dig a deeper grave for Vista? Yes I edited my damn post. Leave me the hell alone. What Adobe Updater‽ What‽ What‽ WHAT‽ Last edited by EmC : 2006-06-28 at 08:59. |

Mail auto-hides at login for me, ramsits. On both my MBP and my PM G5. And have since well before this update.

Welp, it hosed my system. Couldn't boot, something about the kernel when I tried single user mode. So after a fresh archive and install I'm back. I have to install OSX much more often than I did with Windows, but I think that was mainly because reinstalling Windows was such a pain in the ass taking days to get things right, where with OSX I'm back up to normal in about an hour, so if something seems a little iffy I just think "oh fuck it I'll just reinstall"

iChat did not hide for me on login on either machine. THe MBP is still on 10.4.6, the PM is on 10.4.7. Mail hides.
I have Letterbox running as a plug-in in mail, but it is otherwise unadulterated. Could that make a difference somehow? |

For those of you who have been hosed, what hardware are you on (PPC or Intel)?

I also installed without problems.
I'm liking these points the most: - Addresses an issue on PowerPC-based Macs that prevented video conferencing when not enough shared memory was available. - Addresses potential causes of "insufficient bandwidth" alerts in iChat. - If a conference doesn't start as expected, iChat will now offer to send a report to Apple for investigation. I absolutely hate when my video chatting on iChat goes haywire. Deal with it. |

I am on a 1.83/80GB MBP, 15", 2GB RAM, was running 10.4.6 and didn't have anything particularly unusual installed...Adobe CS2, Studio 8, the Pro Apps (FCS, Logic, Aperture), Word 2004, etc...only thing nonstandard I would say I had was my Wacom tablet driver.

Is the hosing an Intel-only issue from the looks of this?

I must admit that I forgot to revert the trackpad hack.
For those that have a 15-inch MacBook Pro didn't install it: is two-finger right-click enabled in 10.4.7 now? It is for me, but it might be that the Installer just didn't overwrite the hack. |

I just installed it on my MBP 2.0. So far everything works OK. I even think my laptop is running cooler! I wonder if the update included anytthing to help with the heat?
