Free?

I used Dropbox for this purpose for years, but I don't think they support that anymore.

I used Imgur(?) about twice but it was a royal hassle.

Is there just something out there where I can drop an image, it generates a link and I can insert it here in those IMG tags?

I'm always drawing or coming up with something and sometimes think I should share it here, but, currently it's just a long way around the bend.

I'll hunker down and try to get better with Imgur if everyone thinks that's the way to go, it just seems a bit convoluted for what I need.

PS - Merry Christmas (yes, the above is the kind of stuff I think about on Christmas morning).

Hm. I would have thought that Dropbox would work. Maybe there's a privacy issue?

What about Flickr (it's back)?

From a Reddit thread:

Give these a try:

https://postimage.io/ (Unlimited Bandwidth, Free to use but compresses image **Edit: Postimage has added an option to opt of image compression during upload.)

https://lensdump.com (Unlimited Bandwidth, Raw Uncompressed Image, Keeps Exif Data, More features for registered users and Free to use, 100MB max image file size)

http://cubeupload.com/ (Amazing and simple interface, Unlimited Bandwidth, Raw Uncompressed images, Free to use, 5MB max image file size)

https://flickr.com (This one is not for everyone, it is basically a service to showcase your artistic work but works as image host as well, owned by Yahoo!)

Don't use the these image hosts; Get miles away from them. :

https://tinypic.com (Old Outdated interface, No multi image upload support, Compresses image, No hotlinking)

https://imgur.com (Compresses images, biased and deletes images based on their own opinion)

https://photobucket.com (Old, Can't upload images as guest, Parent company of Tinypic, so even worse than tinypic)

https://imageshack.us (Only paid accounts have unlimited bandwidth)

Edit: Adding some cons as requested by OP. Don't have much time as I am at the office, but I think it should give an overall idea.

SmugMug bought Flickr away from Yahoo 2-ish years ago and have made a lot of improvements. Yahoo had let it set idle, and when Verizon bought Yahoo, they didn’t want to maintain it so it was sold.

Been a long time paid Smugmug user, 10 years now I think, never had any problems with them. They use solid Amazon S2 servers, so I assume they have moved Flickr that direction as well. Flickr lets you upload 1000 shots for free, so unless you need permanent storage for a lot of images it is fine.
