I'd love to hear what everyone thinks...
Any predictions on when the Pro Audio Software guys like Steinberg, NI, Spectrasonics, and all other Virtual Instrument Creators are going to go Universal Binary and go Duo Core??? |

I can tell you with NI, as I'm a heavy user of traktor, absynth, and reaktor. For the most part, NI will be uni bin by or by the end of 2nd quarter this year.
Product: Scheduled compatibility: GUITAR RIG 2nd Quarter 2006 GUITAR COMBOS 2nd Quarter 2006 TRAKTOR DJ Studio 2nd Quarter 2006 KONTAKT 2nd Quarter 2006 ABSYNTH 2nd Quarter 2006 FM7 2nd Quarter 2006 REAKTOR 2nd Quarter 2006 BANDSTAND End of 2nd Quarter 2006 AKOUSTIK PIANO End of 2nd Quarter 2006 B4 End of 2nd Quarter 2006 PRO-53 3rd Quarter 2006 BATTERY End of 3rd Quarter 2006 VOKATOR Until the end of 2006 NI-SPEKTRAL DELAY Until the end of 2006 Other pro audio stuff? Well, logic has gone to 7.2 and is now universal, ordering express with my macbook pro; Ableton will have live in beta at 5.2 and likely available March; and digidesign? Well, pro tools'll probably be native by 2010 hahaha BUT, don't disregard all the superb freeware vsts out there, a fair few are going intel-native as we speak, and some of them are fantastic. |

Good info in this thread, but it really should be in 3rd party products.
