So for the last few weeks the delete key hasn't always been registering it's key strokes. I've had to tap it a little harder on occasion.

Then tonight the hard drive has been making clicking sounds while the computer has been pausing for lengths of time to just sit. In addition, earlier tonight the speakers just stopped for about an hour.

Any ideas? I ran repair permissions. Fine. I ran verify disk and got this:
Verifying volume “Duggles' Drive”
Checking HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Illegal name
Checking multi-linked files.
Checking Catalog hierarchy.
Checking Extended Attributes file.
Checking volume bitmap.
Checking volume information.
The volume Duggles' Drive needs to be repaired.

Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit

1 HFS volume checked
Volume needs repair

You need to boot from the OSX install disk to use the Disk Utility repair function on a boot drive. That said, if it is clicking, it could be a sign that the disk is failing, what is the S.M.A.R.T status of the drive given by Disk Utility? Sounds like your machine is having a lot of hardware problems, you might want to take it in to get checked.

1. Back up
2. Run a disk repair utility like DiskWarrior over the disk.
3. Pray
