Considering we haven't seen iPhone rev 3... rev 4 is a way off yet, I would think.

In 2009 i would like:

1) New Mac Pros with i7 (or what ever they are call) chips
2) New Matte Cinema Displays
3) iPhone syncing without the need to use iTunes, it should be done through the system.
4) The removal of iPhoto startup when you connect your iPhone with new photos (that really bugs me).
5) Blu-Ray options on Mac Pros
6) And Media streaming capabilities with Time Capsule

I don't have an iPhone, but I would assume this can be configured just the same as with any other camera:
  • Launch Image Capture
  • Go to Image Capture → Preferences
  • Set When a camera is connected, open: to No application
  • Buy me a gift

Hell in farting around with my Apple Time Capsule Extweeem fantasty I found out that the Time Capsule uses the
same Marvell ARM based SoC that you'll find in NAS from QNAP (T-409) and Synology DS207+. This means it has a lot
more power (assuming the clockrate is the same on the chip) than I had expected. I'd love to see streaming coming from
a Time Capsule because I'm getting an Apple TV in 2009 and my monthly entertainment bill is going bye bye.

The Mac Pros should be supporting Blu-ray. I've heard enough complaints coming from the Wedding Videography cartels LOL.

As long as we're wishing for all of 2009 - let's include iMacs with Core i7, too!

1. Nehalem (Xeon X5500 series) Mac Pros by early Q2, with Blu-ray as BTO.
By far this will have the biggest impact of any product announcement in the Pro space. The preliminary benchmarks are pretty staggering.

2. Big improvements to the way font and object styling is handled in iLife.
(read: the floating color and font "windowlettes" suck)

3. Lightroom-like file handling in Aperture 3 and localized corrections.

4. True (non-glossy!) Color-critical Cinema Displays that are cost-competitive.

5. FCS 3 with unified user interfaces and big updates to DVDSP.

Anything above and beyond that would be gravy.

...into the light of a dark black night.

Speaking as the guy who recommends the equipment we're going to buy for our design studio at work, and keeping in mind that I've asked that they hold off on purchases until MacWorld Expo is over, my wishlist would be as follows:

• i7-based Mac Pros
• Seriously updated iMacs with more default RAM and better graphics chipsets.
• Those two things available and ready to buy by the end of the keynote at MWSF.
