Dear all,
The room isn't very hot but my processor temperature does not go below 45ºC (113F) even if I just leave it doing nothing. The fan is also always on, even at this temp. Using the pb for browsing web makes the temp at 52º where the fan is really loud. My friend with an iBook says his fan doesn't kick in until 55ºC I'm thinking there's something wrong...why is my fan kicking in early? Thanks. |

http://forums.applenova.com/showthread.php?t=8136 That thread includes links to other threads on this topic. In essence, either there's an easy fix or you're out of luck. The first thing to to is find out what your CPU load is. If it's high there are several easy fixes that you'll certainly want to do and that may solve your problem. The only fix if you're unlucky like me is to downgrade to Panther (might fix it) or Jaguar (10.2.8 definitely works for me). Good luck, and please do let us know how it goes for you. |
