Weasel riding on woodpecker's back... seriously.

That pic isn't 'Shopped.

But some of the follow up modded versions are pretty hilarious.

Canadian Skier survives 1,600 ft fall down near-vertical slope.

Ian McIntosh, a Canadian professional skier, went cartwheeling down a near vertical mountain in Alaska’s remote Neacola range last April, falling 1,600 feet in less than a minute and lived to talk about it. He suffered a sore neck and body, describing the experience as "gnarly." (Twitter/@imcintoshski)

... describes experience as "gnarly".

The Home

Cormac McCarthy’s ‘Home Alone

This is some excellent shit right here. I've already read it several times. It's like the kid from The Road transplanted.

Magnificent.

Dear God. I suppose if you combed through accident footage in the US you could put together a "driving in the USA" reel that would seem alarming, but I don't know if you could match the sense of oblivious wantonness the Chinese seem to muster. I don't think we typically plow through crowds of people as if it were merely an efficient use of our time. Also, wtf was up with that little gap in the freeway boundary wall that seemed to lure countless Chinese motorists to their doom? If in fact that was the case and not just a trick of editing.

I should've had my old roommate post to this thread. His google-fu was... Well, he could search for "best deal on hard drives", and the top five hits would be four online retailers with hard drives on sale and one website about "the top 20 game shows that were too weird for Japan" (or something else equally unrelated and bizarre).

When I was a kid, people who did wrong were punished, restricted, and forbidden. Now, when someone does wrong, all of the rest of us are punished, restricted, and forbidden... and the one who did the wrong is counselled and "understood" and fed ice cream.

Think you're unlucky?

You ain't got nothing on this poor bastard.

A GRANDAD has survived a gas explosion, been run over twice, walked away from a ten-car pile-up and suffered a heart attack – where he “died” 17 times.

Ian Francis, 48, went blind at age 24, underwent a brain op, had a kidney removed, been electrocuted, narrowly escaped an IRA bomb attack — and his guide dog ran away.

“I must be the luckiest bloke in Britain to still be here after all that.”

Ian’s latest near-miss came on Valentine’s Day.

After suffering a heart attack, Ian ‘died’ 17 times in the ambulance as paramedics battled to bring back from the brink

A gas canister exploded in his neighbour’s home in Oxford, causing a three-storey block of six flats to collapse.

One resident died.

Ian, who lives with girlfriend Sammy Clark, 34, said: “Our block is attached to it and nearly fell down as well.

“Luckily we’d popped out to the shops.”

Ian's timeline of misfortune
  • Ian’s bad luck began in 1989 when he an electric shock from a TV he was fixing threw him across the room.
  • Three years later he was electrocuted again by a faulty socket.
  • Ian’s last scrape with death came after he dodged a killer blast on Valentine’s Day. Despite missing the blast after popping to the shops, Ian was left homeless
A gas canister exploded in his neighbour’s home in Oxford, causing a three-storey block of six flats to collapse
He said: “I was rushed to hospital with burns on my hand.
  • "It was that year that I was registered blind. I was born partially sighted and it just got worse over the years.”
  • In 1993 a stolen van ran him over.
  • In 1996 he was in the next street as an IRA bomb injured 200 in Manchester.
  • Two years later a growth was found on his brain. He said: “I said my goodbyes to my children.
“But they managed to take it out through my ear.”
Dad-of-five Ian joked: 'The Grim Reaper is after me. I keep telling him to bugger off'
  • Another hit and run driver almost killed him in 2006.
  • Months later he had a heart attack in the street.
He “died” 17 times in the ambulance as paramedics kept battling to bring back from the brink.
  • The next month an accidental Prozac overdose left him in intensive care.
  • Four years ago he survived a ten-car pile-up on the M4.
  • In June 2015 his guide dog Toffee ran off for three days.
  • In December he had his right kidney removed in a cancer scare.
  • Last month he was fitted with a pacemaker. Then came the gas blast
Ian, who has six grandkids, said: “It’s crazy. But at least it gives me a few good stories to tell people.”

All those who believe in telekinesis, raise my hand.

Ian looks like he is 70 even though he is 48. I think the grim reaper is going to win soon enough. He already has a pacemaker and started with the heart attacks at 38?

What i think is, getting a WATERMELON for making music is not a good idea. IF you are low on budget, get an ORANGE under 600 with SSD, which will far better than crying later because your laptop works like a potato.

Hell, I was surprised as hell to see this thread back. Usually, that means a spammer is lurking.

Someone beat me to it.

I think drew and I are the only ones here authorized to bump years-old dormant threads (or it just feels that way).

Some day I'll get drunk again and bump 10 or 15 threads more than 10 years out of date.

That creates all kinds of excitement!

Same. Little arrogant, flying bastards reading my mindwaves!

Please tell me that’s Photoshopped or some sort of gag/prank.

“…1959 threw 2001”.

It did?

I always get my marching orders from sub-literate wingnuts. I can only guess where he stands on vaxing, the general shape of the planet, etc. I’m sure he’s got it all figured out, whether he can spell it or not.

EDIT: Whew…appears to be a joke/attention-getting thing, from what I’ve read. But a nice long article on it at the Audubon Society’s website, nonetheless. They’re my go-to on any and all bird-related matters. If they don’t know, who will?

All that other nonsense aside, I'm wondering about that stick duct-taped to the back of the van. If nothing else, that says "nutball" sure as shootin'!
