I shot the sherrif.

This was funny enough for its own thread.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RjtVnqZCndo I usually don't like SNL as of the last 10 years, but I was laughing constantly through this skit. Google is your frenemy. Caveat Emptor - Latin for tough titty I tend to interpret things in the way that's most hilarious to me |

How funny...I actually saw that the other night live and was laughing too. I thought the very same thing: "holy crap, SNL got a chuckle from me?!?".
Must mean the end is near. |

That's just because you were smoking weed at work while working on those computers that were paid for by weed while you work at weed legislation or whatever the hell you weed monkeys do at that new job of yours, pot head.
But yeah, that *was* hilarious. |

The thing is, they DO have a point...what was Vick thinking?!?
Every point they brought up was totally legit: 1. He is a multi-millionaire (he can afford to buy more to replace what he had to discard) 2. He was in Miami, drug central (I'm thinking they probably look a bit harder there for stuff like this) 3. He was carrying a water bottle (not allowed on planes) 4. He was flying back home (he's probably got more in his house, or can easily go get some - see #1 above) Was this Extra Special Weed or something? Makes him seem pretty dense...I like the "so you put something not allowed on planes into another thing not allowed on planes. That's like hiding your weed in the barrel of a gun or the mouth of an endangered species". Good thing he can throw a football, huh? |

Maybe it's because someone already told me how hilarious this was and my expectations were too *ahem* high, but.... meh. To me they try so hard to be sarcastic that it loses its punch. The actual dialog though, about all the stupid shit MV did, is pretty well written. Just not well delivered. Dennis Miller could've absolutely PWNED that performance and made it an all time classic. It's built for him actually. And he could've done with one "really, asshole..." what those two do with 15 "reallys". SNL still hasn't found its way back from the breach I'm afraid.

The first time I saw that, I howled. I wasn't expecting that chorus at all.
There's another recurring sketch I've seen about 2-3 times: "two a-holes". Two complete oblivitards - a man and woman couple - who are so obnoxious. Something about it makes me cackle with glee: total boneheaded yupster types without a clue in their head. The fact that I encounter these types so often in real life is probably why I get a kick out of seeing them parodied so well. Go to NBC.com to the SNL/video section and try to find the one where the "two a-holes go to the gym", when John C. Reilly was the host and playing the gym trainer. You want to laugh and smack them senseless at the same time. I find the woman extremely sexy, and I don't know why. I'd probably kill her in real life. Here's one: Two a-holes buy a Christmas tree. |

I rate this skit half of a "meh".
Weak. I guess it probably helps if you watch it while you're high. Though, that probably goes for all of SNL in general these days. The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. I hate it when people think repetition is funny. Whether it is the rehashing of an old skit, or a skit where the same word is repeated over and over as a quasi-punchline. The reason why SNL and the Simpsons aren't funny anymore is because people still laugh. If you stop humoring them, they'll actually write something for once.
It's great that you can derive humor from something. I like good music and good movies and fun times just like everyone else. My taste isn't the acme of everything good in the world...but seriously, you're ruining it for the rest of us. Note: Not aimed at you, Alc. |

I don't think I've renamed anyone in at least 5 days.
I loved the line "Even my dumbest highschool friends know to throw their weed away when they go to the airport, and they have no money, and love weed." I also found it humorous that it was making the rounds at work. And whether or not there were drugs in the bottle, he's friggin' Ron Mexico. He's earned it. Google is your frenemy.
