I just got a new 15" MBP to replace my PB G4 17". I have this hooked to a Dell 2405FPW that has 1900x1200 maximum resolution but for some reason when hooked to the new MBP, the screen is jumpy. My tech guy tried to change the refresh rate from 60 to 75 hz but Display properties will not allow it.
Funny thing is the old PB G4 had no problem driving the 1900x1200 resolution. Any ideas? And, by the way, the Dell looks so dark and dingy next to the new LED MBP!!! Now that I got a job, I can buy more Apple products! |

The screen should be 60Hz if it's an LCD display. There's a reason it won't let you go higher.
I assume it's a DVI input? How does the monitor look when connected to another computer? Google is your frenemy. Caveat Emptor - Latin for tough titty I tend to interpret things in the way that's most hilarious to me |

No problem.
That resolution would be pushing the limits of VGA, plus it would be susceptible to noise from other sources. Glad to hear it's working. |
