Does anyone know what the music is in the NASA clip on the HD gallery? If you haven't seen it (or more specifically, heard it) here's the link: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/hdgal...ceshuttle.html
I've tried googling it, and searching these forums, but no joy. |

Well if no one knows off hand, can anyone tell me where this info may be found? For some reason I can't sign into my Apple.com profile, something about AppleID and security reasons

Well, I can help narrow it down for you. It's definitely a modern composition, almost certainly written post 1980's. It sounds like the composer was trying to imitate some of the minimalist ideas of Steve Reich and Philip Glass, but the style is hybridized with other ideas. It almost sounds like Michael Torke, but I'm not familiar with all the string quartets he's written. It could just be some random post-minimalist though. You might want to start there. Hope this helps. You might want to check NASA's site?

I was going to say Philip Glass since I hated the piece the further it went along - and that is Philip Glass' hallmark.

I contacted NASA first, even before I checked Apple or anywhere else. NASA has yet to write me back.
A composition of loops from Garageband? Are you sure? It's very good then. Much better than anything else I've heard from GB. |

Yeah I thought they where from a stock Garageband install. They are actually from JamPack number 1.
I am not sure if the same loops or similar ones come in JamPack 4 - 1 and 3 are the only ones I have played around with. WARNING: Do not let Dr. Mario touch your genitals. He is not a real doctor. Last edited by SilentEchoes : 2005-07-10 at 19:00. |
