You are going to have to be a little more specific in your quesitons to get proper answers. Care to rephrase?

Please don't cross-post the same material in multiple threads or multiple forums, PowermacG5newbie. This is bad etiquette and fragments the discussions. I removed your post from the other three-month-old DVD+-RW thread.

The quality of this board depends on the quality of the posts. The only way to guarantee thoughtful, informative discussion is to write thoughtful, informative posts. AppleNova is not a real-time chat forum. You have time to compose messages and edit them before and after posting.

It should be faster than any single processor Mac to date by a significant margin. Dual processors really help. Shouldn't be much slower than the dual 2.0.

Hmmm how much data are you burning?
Is it just files or are you burning from iDVD?
... And, err... Define long!!!! 1 hour, 2 hours?

Remember a full DVD holds 4Gig of data. That's about 5 or 6 CD's worth so you can expect a full DVD to take a fair bit longer than a CD.

OK, I have given up keeping this sig up to date. Lets just say I'm the guy that installs every latest version as soon as its available!

A 2x DVD burner (slowest speed DVD-R supplied with any Mac) will take about 30 minutes to burn one DVD. Do the math for the rest.
