This isn't cool. Supposed to be 10MB/2MB

Edit: Quit Transmission (which had no active transfers at the time of my last test) and got this.

Finally in our new house. Same old crap for bandwidth, though.

This is a brand new neighborhood so this is as good as it's going to get with TWC. Figures.

AND these are over about 100 miles, not a local server.

Seems okay for me. That said, I hate Cablevision's cable box. I wish Fios or U-Verse was available.

Just moved two weeks ago and switched from TWC to Optimum.

I think it's actually slowed down a bit since the last time I checked.  It's always amusing to see an upload speed higher than download, especially when the latter is already in the five-digit range.

Impressively, I've occasionally seen "real life", sustained download speeds in the 68-70Mbps (~8.5-8.75 MBps) range, usually when downloading stuff from the iTunes Store.

So hmm... I decided to bite the bullet and buy a Motorola SB6120 from *cough*. I'm not in a DOCSIS 3.0 upgraded area yet, still on their "Blast!" 16/2mbps package, so I was unsure what would happen. Up until now I've seen upwards of 35mbps downstream via Powerboost, but never much in the way of upstream. I think the highest I've ever seen on a speedtest was 3.2mbps upstream.

Anyway, I called Comcast to get the modem provisioned / associated with my account, and it was able to get online without a hitch. This was the result.

Don't know why, but about a week or two ago I noticed my upload speeds were far faster than 384Kbps. Ran this test to verify.

Just updating a little bit. I can't get on my school's wireless tonight so I'm on my MacBook Air using NetShare on my iPhone 3G.

A little better than last time:

This is during peak hours. Normally I can get about 70 megabits both ways in the early morning, especially if I use an ethernet link in the library or computer science building.

ISP bandwidth upgrades FTW. At least I'm finally getting something a bit more compelling for my ridiculous monthly fee. This is about a 3x increase (download) over 16 months ago, and about an 8x increase for uploads, although what I had at the time was decidedly subpar for the money I paid.

Looks like the Parks Board have upgraded the connection a bit. Not the fastest, but way faster than home.

EDIT: Lowest ping in the whole thread. *ping*

We have decent download (just upgrade for free), but upload still unchanged in the last 8 years.

DUDE... your internet service is provided by the city of Vancouver?? Those speeds are pretty awesome by American standards. Your upload is twice as fast as my download. That is so frickin ridiculous. Leave it to the damn socialists to figure out fast internet and universal healthcare. and x100. Just kidding about the socialist part.

It's at work. I work for the City of Vancouver.*

*=Well, technically, I work for a Community Centre Association that is funded by and occupies a building and infrastructure owned by the City of Vancouver, but that's splitting hairs. I have a @vancouver.ca email address.

Ahhhhh. That doesn't count. We should rename this thread the "pimp your home bandwidth" thread. Can't have people comparing T-3 connections to coax.
