Who are the ad wizards who came up with this one?

Seriously? To all the people that said Apple hasn't jumped the shark, well here is the proof.

Tim Cook, please watch this video... again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-AxZofbMGpM

Eh, it's just a comic short. Nothing to get all upset about.

Seems to needlessly water down the brand. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Eh. It's a moderately amusing four-minute short film. Maybe as a basis for 60-second ads or something.

Didn't feel particularly funny or otherwise noteworthy to me, but also not as a big deal either way. Just an overly-long ad.

From the poster, I had gotten the impression it was going to be a 90-minute movie with a stupid premise. Given that it's quite a bit shorter, it's also not quite as cringeworthy.

It's the kind of commercial that you'll only ever see two places. 1) Prior to an actual film screening, 2) prior to streaming video content with a 5-second skip button.

My issue is mostly with the way they marketed it. I'm guessing they were trying to drum up a lot of reactions by pretending it's not an ad, and that strikes me as a misstep.

I think it's Apple just testing the waters of production. Rather than diving into feature films, dramas, or sitcoms, they're tinkering with shorts. It's a way to build experience and gauge public reaction.

I thought it was cute, but about 2 minutes too long. Probably a waste of money, but they have more than god so whatever. A little indulgence I can abide.

Cool down. Stop acting crazy.

I loved the heck out of this and I'm sure it will create good buzz. Dwayne Johnson is about as big as a star can get right now and I'm pretty sure that a good chunk of the population wants to be him or do him. Sure endorsements shouldn't sway rational thinking but this is good marketing.

Also nice to see some humor back in Apple ads.

Great. Now I suspect El Gallo of being Dwayne Johnson.

If Siri actually worked that well it would be great. It doesn't, so it's off.

By the way, I know for a fact that this was shot here in Atlanta, and I suspect a number of friends of working on it but whenever I ask they all reply like people who have signed NDAs.

It’s just stupid and unnecessary. A lack of focus and a lack of cool.

It’s easy to suggest that’s blowing it out of proportion but really, what is the point of this? And why are they wasting time and resources on stuff like this and like Planet of The Apps? And what is their executive review process like that they are actually ok’ing these projects?

It’s just weird.

It's. a. commercial.

And judging by how frequently it pre-rolls on YouTube, it's getting a lot of attention.

Also, it's OK to have a little fun now and then. Kind of like Photo Booth: Totally unnecessary and useless, but it sure was a lot of fun when it first came out.

They're just blowing off some steam.

While this was cool, I liked the Cookie Monster commercials better.

I liked Middle Seat!

Maybe because that's the iBook I had?

I don't think one is related to the other at all. The first is an ad. The other is content produced by their Music division. Either can raise questions about lack of focus or quality or values or whatever, but they have as much to do with each other as an iTunes purchasable song does with a Thunderbolt-to-Ethernet adapter.
