I am little confused about Mac OS X user short name. Is it case sensitive if Mac is remotely logged in? Because it seems so. How does Mac OS X stores the short name? For example if short name is apple so will it store it as Apple or apple?
When I start computer and log in it does not matter if I type Apple or apple. However when I log in using Putty or WinSCP I must enetr Apple cos typing apple would not let me in. I also noticed you run Fugu and you write your username apple, but next time you rturn to app and it already has it as Apple. The short name in menu bar also displays the first letter capital, that is Apple. It is, indeed, case-sensitive. I cannot log in to my machine as "CHUCKER".
