How can you tell if your screen is dim?? Also I feel like my eyes are a bit strained from looking at my mbp 17" screen or its just me... maybe its because I used the macbook for a day and comparing to the mbp 17" screen?? I know the macbook is more vibrant and brighter but then the pixel is higher and it should still be the same brightness.. but I noticed that in the dark it seems like my eyes are getting strained.. my mbp 17" is flawless but i'm just wondering if it has a dimmer screen than the newer ones, mine is may released version.

Have you tried turning the brightness up? (F2 on the MBP keyboard)

It likely isn't the same brightness, they're two different panels

Well I seriously hope you're not trying to use it at full brightness in the dark. My iBook, with a pretty dim screen, is uncomfortably bright on the lowest brightness setting in the dark.
