Nokia release an amazing product and then tell us its coming out next year.
Apple dont tell us anything but when they do, the product is available for purchase 30 minutes later in the apple store. I hate the way Nokia teases us.

No hard-drive, difficult (?) screen functionality and apparently intended primarily for home WiFi use. Hard to see that it willl catch on.

What, exactly, is the intended use of that thing?

*cough*G5*cough*
Remember the iMac (original and G4)? The iPod mini? Apple's good, but not always perfect.

Heh - just to add to the point BlueRabbit made. Apple have even been known to downspec some products too after release. (Remember the G4 PM 500MHz fiasco of a few years back?)

I'm not totally convinced that Apple has a bullet-proof inventory control system. Jobs is always quick to sell the sizzle - and too many fanbois are willing to buy it from him too. Yes, available right now - or 30 minutes after keynote - some months later it ships.

Anyway, sometimes I'd like to know in advance what is on the drawing board. Helps budget wise.

Apparently it does not help Apple budget-wise, though. :/
