So lately Time Machine seems to hang on "Preparing Backup..." I don't even know where to begin troubleshooting the issue. I've let it try to backup overnight but it fails.
I did a lot of Google searching and it was repeatedly recommended that the user experiencing the trouble copy and paste his/her system.log contents from Console. I can't see mine; it says, "You do not have permission to read this log." But here's what--ugh, there were a bunch of messages I was going to post but when I clicked back into Console they disappeared. Earlier I recall it saying something like, "Node requires deep traversal," "stray process with PGID equal to this dead job," and "setcryptokey". Do these messages mean anything? I guess for now this thread will serve as a feeler for anyone else experiencing TM or TC backup issues... Thanks! |

Patience is a virtue, my friends. TM is backing up 1.7GB to my TC. Hooray!

Mine does that now and then. Normally, if I cancel and re-start the backup, it works.
