Hey all, I recently bought a new scanner that came with software for managing the scans.
For windows it comes with PaperPort 9, which I absolutely love and have used paperport products for 5+ years now. But for macintosh... Since Scansoft (now Nuance) doesn't make paperport for mac the scanner came with Presto! Pagemanager 4. It looks similar to paperport, but is lightyears away from it in functionality, it's slow, it's stupid, once you stack documents on top of on another you can't unstack them (what where they thinking?!). Anyways, what do you guys recommend for software that manages scanned images (besides iphoto, I need the ability to stack images on top of one another to create "books")? It's kinda of a wild goose chase, but I'm sure *one* of you guys must have a scanner. Site for paperport, to give an idea of what it does: http://www.nuance.com/paperport/professional/ |

Sorry... 'stack'?
Do you mean 'gather pages into a single document so that they print like a book'? For that I simply scan to PDF and use a PDF combiner. Add in OCR, and Spotlight can index them to boot. |
