After reading this thread, I thought that maybe it'd be a good idea to display in the User control panel exactly what your repuation point giving power is. I know it changes depending on your own reputation and perhaps other things I'm unaware of, but it'd be nice to know.

Also, getting a gray point seems to be ambiguous. Can it mean either a positive point from someone with a low rating, or a negative point from someone with a negative rating? (This is a guess, I'm not sure) I ask, since I have an ambiguous point.

The gray points are from people with too few posts to be able to change your reputation. See this related thread. But I agree that it would be nice to know what kind of reputation they were trying to give you. You can often tell from the comment or the post that it's about, though ...
