800mhz emac, 40GN hdd, 640 RAM, airport, keyboard, mouse etc.
$150

or

1.25ghz mac mini, 40GB hdd, 256RAM
$250

its for my mom. im leaning toward the emac. ive heard adding airport and RAM to the mini is a pain in the ass. any opinions?

Does she have a screen, kb, and mouse?

If so, mini.
If not, eMac.

What will she use it for typically?
Does she need to run anything demanding?

The mini is easy to open and break something, hard to do 'cleanly'.
The eMac is easier to access, but as an older model all-in-one won't retain value or usefulness as long.

You can always stick the mini in a car later.
eMac, not so much.

she needs internet access (via wifi), iphoto and itunes. she has her own monitor/kbd/mouse. shes currently using a g4 powermac 600mhz that runs fine for her. the problem is that she has a horrible time connecting to her roommates wifi because she has the original airport card.

if i buy the mini, i will have to buy an airport card and ram so im guessing at least another $100 to get it in proper working order. the emac has everything i need already... and i kind of like the "all in one" situation for her because its les wires to call me about.

the more i think about it the more im convincing myself to buy the emac. its one stop shopping and its in my price range. i just wanted to hear some other opinions. first.

For what she needs (as long as her iPhoto isn't a gabillion photos), the eMac is a better bargain.

Already enough RAM to be usable. Less work and $ for you.
